A Kronos Origin story
Leonardo Peçanha, born July 15, 1982, in Morro da Fé (Rio de Janeiro), began Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at age 5 under Wendell Alexander at Mello Tênis Clube. Initially enrolled for after-school structure due to family separation, he quickly showed talent. A standout moment came in 1997 when, as a green belt teen, he placed 3rd in the adult blue belt division at the IBJJF Pan Championship in Hawaii.
Professor Leonardo
He earned his black belt in 2002 under Master Wendell Alexander after sustained competitive success and winning a world title as a brown belt. In 2004, he entered MMA and moved to the U.S. where he opened his own gym in the Missouri area.
After running BJJ schools and teaching seminars around the world, Professor Leonardo decided in 2018 to create ‘Kronos BJJ’ in which he can share and teach his wisdom of Jiu-Jitsu to students around the Globe.
Since 2018, Kronos BJJ ranks among the top 10 BJJ Academy's in the world, in the ranks of several major competitions, and has established worldwide affiliation. All of that was achieved within the first 5 years of Kronos' inception. Professor Leonardo currently holds 5th degree black belt, and is based at Kronos BJJ HQ at Burwood.
